Ilma Doll

Silaiwali’s cloth dolls are such lovely things, well designed, well made and in a range of skin tones and traditional dress. Each doll even comes with a bed, as the cardboard box she arrives in has a little pillow and a blanket.

Ilma reflects quiet kindness and the artistry of the women who created her. 

Each doll is stitched by hand by women who have fled from Afghanistan to India. The work allows them to earn a living and form a new community.
